D.C. Adventure

At the spur of the moment, my cousin and I went to Washington D.C. today. I honestly did not realize how close our nations capital was from Richmond. He doesn’t live in Richmond, just west of it, so it was about a 2 1/2 hour drive. Literally, at 6:00 a.m. this morning we decided to drive to D.C. for the day.

We parked in the Ronald Reagan building and immediately walked to The Washington Monument a couple blocks down the road. From there, we did the whole, what I call, American circle, that involved The Lincoln Memorial, The White House and then The Capital Building, with a couple of stops along the way.

The White House

Our last stop at the end of “the circle” was The Holocaust Memorial Museum. What an unbelievable memorial. If you are ever in the D.C. area, I highly recommend this exhibit. It is truly awesome.
